H. P. Lovecraft's "The Haunter of the Dark"

  1. Wilum, thank you so much for your vlog on "Haunter of the Dark" - it is one of my favourite HPL tales too - there are many I love for many reasons, but I agree with the 'Gothicity' of this tale. HPL's description of the exploration of the belfry space and the strange black, red-striated polyhedron with many irregular flat surfaces - that object in and of itself makes the story one of the most potent HPL wrote - there is mention in many S'tanic texts and other writers such as Kenneth Grant have talked of contacting other-dimensional beings with such an object. Ia! Ia! All worship is a two-way communication with the numinous...
As a sideline I was over the moon to receive copy 89 of your signed "Bohemians of Sesqua Valley". Yay! A class act indeed and glad I am that I managed to obtain one of the last copies 'out there'. Well done - In Memoriam Robert Nelson is a tender evocation of the Weird and so highly fitting and touching. Gwabryel's artwork is lovely. Thank you and aetyrnal blessings for your work as ever. G. ;-)=

  2. Wilim, who painted the painting at the top of this entry? Has the flavour of John Martin but I know it is more modern than that.... G. ;-)=
